Pinacoteca di Brera
Established in 1809 by Napoleon Bonaparte as an art gallery of the Brera Academy of Fine Arts founded by Maria Theresa of Habsburg, it is undoubtedly one of the most important collections in the world. One cannot help but be enchantingly stunned by so much beauty gathered in the halls of the palace of the same name. The collection, almost exclusively pictorial, brings together works by artists from the peninsula and Europe from the 13th century to the art of the 20th century. Among the most representative works we find Bellini's Pieta, Mantegna's Dead Christ, Bramante's Christ at the Column, Raphael's Marriage of the Virgin, Caravaggio's Supper at Emmaus.
